“Though it may be obvious from our music video, I wrote the lyrics to the song in 2015 shortly after my father passed away due to a stroke. He had been on a vacation cruise ship with his newlywed wife in Barbados when the stroke occurred. Since he was in a third world country, they didn’t have the proper medical treatments around to help him so by the time they could fly him to Florida, he was in a coma. I flew to him, but it was too late and we had to say goodbye on November 15th, 2015. The lyrics, ‘tonight we sing our final song, it’s time to let go’ refers to our final moments together. My family and I held him and sang some of our favorites to him that we used to sing together that night and his machines started to freak out and create a melody and harmonized with themselves; it felt like he was singing with us.”
